What's the difference between On-Grid and Off-Grid?

In the  Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) On-Grid systems are connected to the national grid operated by Kibtek and subject to their approval and supervision. Power produced is fed directly into the grid via inverters and smart meters. The amount fed in is offset against your consumption and you only pay for what you use, if that's more than the amount you feed in. The aim is to have zero electricity bills all year but that depends on you having space to install sufficient solar panels. The disadvantage of On-Grid is that if there's a power cut, you'll still get the power cut as well - even though you've generated your own power and fed it into the grid, because OnGrid doesn't incorporate battery integration. Off-Grid allows batteries to store power generated and doesn't feed into the grid so you'll never get a power cut - providing you generate enough power in the first place.

Whats the advnatage of Lithium Batteries?

Gel and Lead Acid batteries are around half the price of LifePo4 Lithium Batteries and have a maximum life of 4 years. Only 60% of the batteries power can be used at any one time with the other 40% being retained. State-of-the-art Solar LifePo4 Lithium Batteries are far superior in terms of price / performance with a 16.5 year life, 90% power useage and  just 10% retained power. They come with a 10 year warranty plus an extra 5 year optional warranty. Gel and Lead Acid batteries don't communicate with inverters,whereas LifePo4 Lithium Batteries provide seamless, constant communication via a Comms Cable.

Do you supply syems to apartments?

No. Our systems can only be installed in villas or private houses.

Can you install your systems on a tiled roof?

Yes. We offer a number of solutions for all private properties e.g. aluminium constructions on a tile roof, steel galvanized profiles to provide a solar garage, or atop a gazebo in a garden.

Can I utilise a garage roor or empty land beside my property?

Yes.

What brands do you provide?

Luxor, Trina Solar and HT Saae panels are sourced from Germany, China and Turkey.

Victron and Growatt inverters are sourced from Netherlands and China.

Does power production drop in winter?

Yes. Energy production drops when it's cloudy or rainy weather as less light reaches the panels. In winter the hours of light are shorter than in summer, so again production will not be as high then.

How do you calculate my energy needs?

If you're connected to the grid, we can review your previous 12 months bills to calculate your energy consumption and requirements very quickly and accurately. If you're not connected to the grid, we'll  enter into a dialogue with you about your device useage to arrive at an optimum KW/Hour requirement.

How quickly will my system pay for itself?

If you require only daytime consumption for workplaces or small production facilities, your system can pay for itself in as little as 2 years because power will be fed directly without the need to purchase batteries. If you require power in the evening and night time, you'll need batteries but the system will still pay for itself in 4-5 years.
